Below is the feedback from the meeting: Key Points • Strategy Easy Read PDF documents on Wirral Council website - negotiating with marketing to do this, discussion over consistency of easy read. • STOMP is now called Medicine Optimisation. • Delivering better Value work in Children's services - coproduction with families, working to find gaps in commissioning to improve services for SEND children embedding graduated approach and discussion of Portsmouth model for ND pathway. • discussed potential for Zoop - new Autism Hub at Open Door - potential for autism stream members of Autism theme that feeds into AAD partnership board. • Early stages of improving adult mental health services - prevention focus • Transitions - new target operating model being developed What is Important? Both the work on ND pathway & DBV involve service mapping and identifying commissioning gaps which has potential for new commissioned work that the sector could deliver.

Karen Livesey attended the Core20PLUS5 meeting on Thursday 21st November. Below is the feedback from the meeting: Key Points "This group is responsible for helping to develop an approach to Core20plus5 which is a national framework for both adults and Children and Young People for reducing healthcare inequalities. We are now coalesced both the Adults and CYP group so its very early days in terms how the group will have oversight of both frameworks. We have active involvement from the VCFSE sector from WMO, Wirral Change, Health Junction, Wirral Mencap, MSDP, WSBPS. Organisations can always come along to the meetings if they wish to." What is Important? "It's important that the sector feed into this group their insight to ensure that approaches are appropriate to the needs of the community."

Lee Pennington and Chris Shaw attended the Primary Care Group meeting at Marriss House, Birkenhead on Tuesday 26th November. Below is the feedback from the meeting: Key Points "Targeted work going on around ADHD service provided by CWP – scrutiny of the way CWP are managing the workstream because it has been closed a long time and no clear plan to re-open. Conversation about relevant uplifts for ARRS staff in Wirral – challenges around making finances work. Discussion around CWP's interpretation of mental health practitioner roles in surgeries – they are focusing on prescribing but different ambition across network. Ambition to get CWP and primary care in the same room. Significant spikes in ADHD across Primary care and including Everyturn. Covid vaccine uptake for eligible cohorts is around 38% to date in Cheshire and Merseyside region. Update about frailty and falls management – community trust are looking to make sure delivery is where it needs to be, along with access. ADHD pilot launching soon with Everyturn. Developing a new model for initial assessment of ADHD patients at Cheshire and Merseyside level – designed by innovation agency – key consideration in where primary care sits. Maybe up to 15-20% of youth meet ADHD diagnosis which marries up with USA. Interesting ideas about new model to meet need but nothing confirmed yet. Will hopefully become ICB commissioned model." What is Important? "Potentially negative impact on community as ARRS work may not happen, needs remain unmet and no uptake of available investment for services in Wirral. Frailty and falls work when discussed led us to raise about whether third sector will be involved with this and attendees said they had been involved so far and keen that they remain. Factor of life Liverpool may be an interesting model to influence potential VCSE support We raised and stressed that VCSE sector should be involved in the development and delivery of this new programme."

Lee Pennington and Chris Shaw attended the Primary Care Group meeting at Marriss House, Birkenhead on Tuesday 29th October. Below is the feedback from the meeting: Key Points "GPs, dentistry and pharmacology are facing significant pressures on resources and finances. As community reps we are investigating how these pressures will affect patient care on Wirral. As these become clear we will report on these in the new year. There is significant funding shortfall playing out in Wirral and as a result all service delivery units and PCs made the decision to not undertake certain work streams which are not funded appropriately. We can't provide details on specifics but as info become extant we will report on changes to patient care. We have been investigating the situation around additional ARRS roles in Wirral and seeking to make sure that the opportunity is taken up by PCGs. There are current issues around the realities of roles being managed and supervised by CWP rather than PCG. Adult ADHD/neurodiversity pathway remains closed and has been for 3.5 years. We are working in the group to arrange reps to attend and talk us through the plans to reopen the pathway." What is Important? "All of the above will directly impact patient care. ADHD is increasing and the closed pathway is having a direct knock on impact to the third sector, both on individuals and third sector providers. On the ARRS roles, unless the situation resolves itself Wirral potentially could lose the opportunity, having a direct negative impact on the sector of these potentially very useful roles. We regularly encourage the group to make use of COP and attend meetings, which is taking place. This enables leaders to talk through reforms in ways that communicate the situation to the sector and residents of Wirral. As co-chairs, we are noticing that we are increasingly being accepted and possess credibility in conversations, as we gain experience. We attend monthly pre-meetings with commissioners to talk through agenda items."

Carol Johnson-Eyre attended the Wirral Place Based Partnership Board meeting at Wallasey Town Hall on Thursday 26th September. Below is the feedback from the meeting: Key Points "There are financial constraints across the health system, and savings are being made. The Board will consider a paper in November about the impact of those financial constraints. There is a Transforming Care programme supporting people with a Learning Disability or Autism. This programme is across Cheshire and Merseyside - please read the papers for the presentation." What is Important? "They are important as any system changes can impact on support Wirral residents receive and impact on the services the health sector and Council commission Wirral VCSFE commission. We need to make sure the system understands the risks changes make. We also need to continue to raise the profile of the impact prevention can have to help the Wirral system deliver their shared and individual priorities." Next Meeting: 17th October 2024
