Kitchen Manager

By filling the bellies of our residents with healthy, hearty meals, you’ll play a vital role in sustaining their health and happiness to carry them through some really tough times. As a core part of our team your work will be key in helping individuals take steps towards a brighter future helping them to regain strength and courage.

Alcohol Recovery Worker – Controlled Drinking Environment (Part-time)

YMCA Wirral

Homelessness isn’t just about losing a home—it’s about losing stability, security, and often, hope. We are recruiting a specialist Alcohol Recovery Worker to support individuals facing homelessness and the additional challenge of substance misuse. Through a contract with Wirral Borough Council, YMCA Wirral operates a Controlled Drinking Environment (CDE) which provides a safe, supervised, and dignified space for individuals struggling with alcohol dependency.

What you will be doing:

Supporting people through the highs and lows, offering practical help, understanding and encouragement.

Delivering harm reduction strategies and techniques within the CDE.

Inspiring change and making a lasting difference in people’s lives.

£16,951 (£28,252 pro-rata)

Activities Coordinator - YMCA Wirral Homeless Shelter (part time)

We are looking for a dynamic Activities Coordinator to lead a vibrant programme of health, wellbeing and vocational activities at our Birkenhead hostel to support our busy shelter and bring energy, creativity, and care to the heart of our service.

By providing our residents with a time table of interesting and life enhancing activities you’ll play a vital role in sustaining their health and happiness and help carry them through some really tough times. As a core part of our team your work will be key in supporting individuals to take steps towards a brighter future helping them to regain skills, confidence and positive mental health.

Complex Needs Practitioner - Rough Sleepers Initiative

We are recruiting a Complex Needs Practitioner to support individuals experiencing rough sleeping across the Wirral. You will work as part of a small and dedicated team of outreach workers seeking out and supporting those in our community experiencing homelessness. Provide outreach support, working flexibly across community locations with a central hub based at our head office in Birkenhead.

£30,232.38 per annum

As our Enterprise Development Officer, you will support young people to explore their ideas, develop entrepreneurial mindsets, and build confidence in their own skills. You will co-create programmes rooted in their lived experiences and connect with partners who can help turn ideas into action.

As our Employability Development Officer, you will work directly with young people to co-create programmes that truly reflect their experiences, ambitions, and challenges. You will collaborate with partners, employers, and community organisations to create real opportunities that open doors and build confidence.

Pre-Falls Physical Activity Lead

Active Wirral

Active Wirral are looking for a Pre-Falls Physical Activity Lead to join the Active Wellbeing team at Wirral Council. The team work across Wirral, supporting residents to make sport and physical activity part of their everyday lives.

You will implement a Universal Preventative Offer to support older adults to live stronger, healthier and happier lives.

This role will be based with Wirral Council, working in partnership with Public Health, Primary Care Networks and health and community partners.

£32,061 to £35,412 per annum

Advocacy Officer

Wirral Society of the Blind and Partially Sighted

Due to the promotion of one of our previous Advocacy Officers, we are pleased to extend the opportunity again for a passionate and experienced candidate to join our team! Advising clients with visual impairments regarding welfare benefits & services appropriate to their situation so that clients can make fully informed decisions about whether and when to make a claim. This involves assisting clients with the completion of any relevant documentation e.g. benefit claim forms, and consulting with other organisations & services on behalf of clients to make referrals where necessary.

£15,943.20 per annum
