Feedback from 26/11/2024 Meeting

Lee Pennington and Chris Shaw attended the Primary Care Group meeting at Marriss House, Birkenhead on Tuesday 26th November. Below is the feedback from the meeting:

Key Points

"Targeted work going on around ADHD service provided by CWP – scrutiny of the way CWP are managing the workstream because it has been closed a long time and no clear plan to re-open.

Conversation about relevant uplifts for ARRS staff in Wirral – challenges around making finances work.

Discussion around CWP's interpretation of mental health practitioner roles in surgeries – they are focusing on prescribing but different ambition across network. Ambition to get CWP and primary care in the same room.

Significant spikes in ADHD across Primary care and including Everyturn.

Covid vaccine uptake for eligible cohorts is around 38% to date in Cheshire and Merseyside region.

Update about frailty and falls management – community trust are looking to make sure delivery is where it needs to be, along with access.

ADHD pilot launching soon with Everyturn.

Developing a new model for initial assessment of ADHD patients at Cheshire and Merseyside level – designed by innovation agency – key consideration in where primary care sits. Maybe up to 15-20% of youth meet ADHD diagnosis which marries up with USA. Interesting ideas about new model to meet need but nothing confirmed yet. Will hopefully become ICB commissioned model."

What is Important?

"Potentially negative impact on community as ARRS work may not happen, needs remain unmet and no uptake of available investment for services in Wirral.

Frailty and falls work when discussed led us to raise about whether third sector will be involved with this and attendees said they had been involved so far and keen that they remain.

Factor of life Liverpool may be an interesting model to influence potential VCSE support

We raised and stressed that VCSE sector should be involved in the development and delivery of this new programme."
