Support offer for Social Care Providers from the Digital Care Hub

Expanding data security support to non-registered care providers

Better Security Better Care is a national and local support programme which helps adult social care providers to store and share information safely.

The programme covers paper and digital records and focuses on helping care providers to complete the Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT) an annual online self-assessment.

Currently, this offer of support is only available to care and support providers who are registered with the Care Quality Commission. However, this programme, delivered by the Digital Care Hub are funding a research project to explore whether social care and support providers who are not registered with CQC would also benefit from the programme.

The NCF are delivering this research project, and we want to talk to non-registered care & or support providers to find out if they would benefit from and would like to receive support from this programme to ensure that they are collecting, storing and sharing data safely.

Online interviews with non-registered care & or support providers to discuss this programme and the support it might be able to offer.

If we find that non-registered providers are interested in receiving support from the programme, we will develop new resources and pilot a new support offer with two local support organisations in April 2026.

We are looking for providers who would be interested in taking part in this research project.

If you are interested please contact Heather Taylor, National Digital Project Lead by email: heather.taylor@nationalcareforum.org.uk
