This week's Funding Bulletin (August 10th - August 14th 2026)
A short summary of funding opportunities that have come to our attention this week.
Help the Homeless
Small homeless charities can apply for capital grants of up to £5,000 to help individuals rebuild their lives.
Eligible applicants must be registered charities with an annual turnover below £500,000 and less than six months of unrestricted reserves. Typically, funding is awarded to organisations running residential or training facilities designed to provide homeless people with direct support and pathways to independence.
Help the Homeless is a grant-giving trust founded in 1975 to assist people off the streets and into healthier, more independent lives.
Projects previously supported include the Booth Centre in Manchester, which received £1,500 for centre improvements, and the Amber Foundation, which was awarded £3,000 to purchase new bedroom furniture for its residential centre in Devon.

The Jean Sainsbury Animal Welfare Trust
Charities registered in the UK that work to provide sanctuary, rehoming, and rehabilitation for animals both domestically and/or internationally are invited to apply for grants of between £1,000 and £10,000.
Organisations involved with wildlife conservation, the rescue, rehabilitation and (where possible) release of animals are also eligible to apply.
The funding can be used for general running costs or capital purchases.
This funding opportunity is provided by the Jean Sainsbury Animal Welfare Trust, which welcomes repeat applications from charities, subject to funding availability.
Preference is given to smaller animal welfare charities.
Examples of projects funded by the Trust include:
Wild Hogs Hedgehog Rescue, Gloucestershire – a £25,000 grant to replace old rehabilitation hutches with veterinary-standard accommodation. The funding also supported specialist hoglet-care training for volunteers and other rescue centres.
Saving Strays Animal Rescue – a £5,000 grant supporting emergency veterinary treatment, vaccinations, neutering, microchipping, animal transport, food, bedding, behavioural rehabilitation, fostering and rehoming.
Hill Pony Resources, Cornwall – a £3,000 grant towards hay, feed, bedding and field rental for rescued Dartmoor ponies awaiting permanent or foster homes.
Doris Banham Dog Rescue, Nottinghamshire – a £15,000 grant towards the construction of emergency boarding kennels for rescued dogs.
Helping Rhinos – a £17,500 grant to expand the Zululand Rhino Orphanage. The funding supported secure rehabilitation enclosures and improvements to its intensive care unit for injured and orphaned rhino calves.

The National Lottery Heritage Fund
Not-for-profit organisations across the UK can now apply for grants of between £250,000 and £10 million from the National Lottery Heritage Fund for projects connecting people and communities to UK heritage.
The funding can be used to support a broad range of activities and project costs, such as:
Volunteer expenses, new staff posts and training costs
Capital works, repair, maintenance and conservation
Professional fees, event costs and activities to strengthen organisations
Acquisition of heritage and costs associated with the purchase
Costs to join Fit for the Future, a UK-wide environmental sustainability network
Projects must take into account the National Lottery Heritage Fund’s four investment principles:
Saving heritage
Protecting the environment
Inclusion, access and participation
Organisational sustainability

The Screwfix Foundation
The Screwfix Foundation is open for applications from charities and registered not-for-profit organisations for projects that will fix, repair, maintain, and improve the properties and community facilities of those in need due to financial hardship, sickness, disability, distress, or other disadvantage throughout the UK.
Grants in the region of £5,000 are available for a variety of projects, such as:
Improved energy-efficient lighting & heating
Installation of new kitchen, bathroom etc.
Installation of a sensory room
General painting & decorating
Improving the safety and security of a building

The Kelly Family Charitable Trust
Registered charities whose activities support and encourage the family to work as a cohesive unit in tackling problems that face one or more of its members can apply for grants of up to £5,000 through the Kelly Family Charitable Trust.
Higher grant amounts can be awarded at the discretion of trustees.
Both capital and revenue grants are available, and the Trust welcomes requests for core operating costs in addition to project-based funding. Newly established organisations are encouraged to apply, as the Trust seeks to help charities grow and establish their services.
Initiatives supported by the Trust focus on preventing the fracture of the family unit through interventions such as practical support, relationship counselling, or mediation. Proposals addressing sexual abuse, domestic or physical violence, alcohol or drug misuse, and support for prisoners and their families are also supported.
Although the Trust prefers to fund charities with annual incomes below £500,000, it may consider applications from larger organisations presenting pioneering pilot projects.
The Trust has supported charities like Mosac, which assists non-abusing parents and carers of sexually abused children, and Westminster Befriend a Family, a group that trains volunteers to befriend and regularly visit families under stress in their homes.

Battersea's Future Ready Programme
Battersea has announced that its Future Ready Programme is open for applications from UK animal welfare organisations seeking to strengthen their long-term sustainability and professionalism. Battersea supports organisations working to improve dog and cat welfare through funding, learning and sector collaboration.
This programme is targeted towards organisations who are currently an Association of Dogs and Cats Homes (ADCH) member working to maintain their membership or those who have made an application or intend to apply to become an ADCH member.
Grants of up to £200,000 are available over two years, from January 2027 to December 2028. Up to five grants will be awarded in this round. The programme is aimed at medium-sized organisations working towards attaining or maintaining Association of Dogs and Cats Homes standards, ADCH membership, or relevant Scottish licensing standards.
Funding must cover at least two of the programme’s three focus areas:
Capital development, such as kennel or cattery improvements, vehicles, isolation units or ventilation
Operational infrastructure, including record-keeping systems, policies, SOPs, training and succession planning
Operational staff, including behaviourists, welfare staff, veterinary nurses and operations managers
Applicants must be registered charities with animal throughput and a clear euthanasia policy. Organisations sourcing animals from outside the UK, sanctuaries, federated charities and projects outside the programme themes are not eligible.
Shortlisted applicants may be asked for further information before final decisions are made.

The SUEZ Communities Fund
Not-for-profit organisations in England can apply for funding to deliver projects that improve communities and the environment.
The funding is made available through the SUEZ Communities Fund for projects that improve public amenities, repair religious or historic buildings, or support biodiversity in areas surrounding Suez landfill sites.
The maximum grant amount that organisations can apply for is £50,000.
Funding typically covers:
Materials
Equipment
Contractors for improvement work

The Fat Beehive Foundation
UK-registered charities can apply for funding of up to £2,500 to improve their online digital presence.
The Fat Beehive Foundation awards small grants to charities with an average income of less than £1,000,000 yearly to support hard-to-fund digital expenditures that other funders often do not cover.
Funding will help organisations to build websites and apps, digitise services, and purchase digital products.
Trustees are particularly keen to support traditionally hard-to-fund organisations, such as those supporting prisoners, refugees, or disadvantaged youth.

The Triangle Trust 1949 Fund
The Triangle Trust 1949 Fund has announced that its second 2026 funding round will focus on projects supporting young women aged 17 to 30 who are in contact with the criminal justice system and at risk of reoffending.
Due to high reoffending rates amongst women, supporting work with young women post release from custody is a key area of interest. This round will support work delivered in prisons, through the gate and as ongoing post-release support.
Grants of up to £100,000 are available for projects lasting 18, 24, 30 or 36 months, with a maximum request of £50,000 per year.
UK registered charities, not-for-profit social enterprises and community interest companies with an annual income of between £50,000 and £5 million are eligible to apply.
Organisations must have relevant experience of working with girls in the criminal justice system and demonstrate age, gender, trauma and culturally responsive approaches. There is a particular focus on projects that provide peer support from women with lived experience and are co-designed with young women and girls. Priority will be given to applications supporting those who are neurodiverse or from Black or minoritised/racialised communities.
