Remembering Ben Duggan

Our condolences following the unexpected death of a popular local charity leader

We are saddened to hear of the unexpected death of Ben Duggan, Charity Manager at Dementia Together Wirral. Our thoughts are with Ben’s family and friends, and with everyone at the charity who knew and worked alongside him.

Ben joined Dementia Together Wirral in February 2025, bringing experience from his work at Wirral Mencap and Autism Together. The charity provides social activities and events for people living with dementia, their carers and former carers across the Wirral.

As Charity Manager, Ben helped broaden those opportunities, introducing gardening and cookery sessions in collaboration with local organisations. He also strengthened support and training for staff and volunteers, and built relationships with organisations across Wirral. His work made a meaningful difference to the charity and the people it supports.

John Rowson, Chair of Dementia Together Wirral, said: “Ben’s death is a devastating loss, one we will feel deeply for a long time. He gave so much to the charity and to the people we support, and was held in great affection by our members, volunteers, staff and trustees.”

He added: “His warmth, kindness and dedication touched so many people. Our thoughts and prayers are with Ben’s family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.”

We join Dementia Together Wirral in remembering Ben and the care and commitment he brought to his work.
