Briefly introducing the challenge UK government has set out for 2050.

• Where are you at now?

Tools you may wish to utilise, to help you better understand your current carbon footprint. (e.g. Non-domestic EPC for buildings)

• Where do you want to be?

Have you declared a Carbon Emergency? Do you have carbon targets within your plans? Are you already reporting on carbon emission reduction as part of Corporate Social Responsibility?

• How will you get there?

Introduction to some methodologies that might help (including “ISO:14001 accreditation” for Environmental Management Systems, and “Carbon Literacy” Certification in exchange for training staff to be carbon aware themselves. This can include actions for the workplace, such as “Energy Champions” whose job it is to read energy meters, and encourage colleagues to switch off lights and computers.
