Using AI responsibly

The Development team at Wirral CVS recently attended the Annual General Meeting and Conference of Voluntary Sector North West. One of the workshops on the agenda was a fabulous run through of different types of AI that can be used by the sector to improve our working habits and support especially small teams.

Using AI is definitely front and centre of the things that we are seeing this year and I imagine next year too. It is becoming a real pressure now to make sure that you have developed a decent AI policy for your staff and volunteers. Certainly to lead the way that the technology is used, before you find yourself having to mitigate because something has gone wrong.

I came across this article today, from Charity Digital which is an essential read. https://charitydigital.org.uk/topics/the-ethics-of-generative-artificial-intelligence-ai-11325

We also have a copy of the newly created AI policy from VSNW, who have kindly said that it can be shared as a good example of an AI policy to our VCFSE groups here on the Wirral. If you would like a copy of the policy, just let us know by emailing zel.rodgers@wcvs.org.uk
