A short summary of funding opportunities that have came to our attention this week.
London Hearts Defibrillator Funding
London Hearts is a charity dedicated to the procurement and distribution of life-saving defibrillators across the UK for both public and private sectors.
The Department of Health and Social Care is offering a £500,000 Community Automated External Defibrillators (AED) Fund, aimed at increasing the availability of defibrillators in public places where they are most needed.
The fund will provide 1,100 new defibrillators and cabinets. To participate, match funding of £750 is required for a defibrillator with an external locked cabinet, or £660 for a defibrillator with an internal cabinet.

Barchester Charitable Foundation grants
Barchester's Charitable Foundation is a grant-giving charity that helps older people and other adults with disability across England, Scotland & Wales lead more fulfilled lives and reach their full potential.
The Foundation focuses on connecting or re-connecting people with others in their local community, helping combat isolation and loneliness and enabling people to be active and engaged.
Funding of between £100 and £2,500 (£1,000 for individuals) is available for individuals charities and small community groups to help improve people's mobility, independence and quality of life. Applications for individuals must be completed by a third-party sponsor such as a health care professional, social worker or charity/support group representative.

Comic Relief Community Fund
Grassroots, community-led organisations in England can apply for grants of up to £5,000 through the Comic Relief Community Fund to help support the delivery of services and activities that benefit local communities.
Funding is available to organisations with an income of less than £250,000 and is being managed by the environmental charity Groundwork.

Magdalen Hospital Trust grants
The Magdalen Hospital Trust supports UK-based organisations that work with vulnerable children and young adults, especially those at risk of sexual and other forms of exploitation.
The Trust prefers to fund project costs rather than core costs.
Projects can include those that provide:
- training for work and personal development
- clubs and play schemes
- safeguarding education
- mental health support and counselling
- emergency care.
The one-off grants awarded are usually between £500 and £2,000.

The Community Energy Fund
The Community Energy Fund (CEF) is a grant scheme for urban and rural communities to develop community energy projects, including local renewable and low carbon energy projects. CEF grants are not available for capital works, equipment or service delivery, and cannot be used to cover costs incurred prior to the grant offer.
