A short summary of funding opportunities that have came to our attention this week.
The National Lottery Community Power fund
The National Lottery are looking for 10 to 15 partners to work with them in the development stage of the Community Power fund for local communities to be able to influence and change the places they live. As well as the services they use, and decisions that affect their lives.
The fund will provide partner organisations with between £50,000 and £80,000 for the development stage. We expect this stage to run between spring 2025 and spring 2026. The fund will be open to expressions of interest by Wednesday 8th January 2025

The Steel Charitable Trust's United Kingdom Under-26 Fund
UK-registered charities can apply for grants ranging from £10,000 to £25,000 to enhance educational and access opportunities for children and young people in challenging circumstances under the age of 26.
The focus is on supporting those facing economic challenges or social marginalisation that may lead to significant disadvantages in later life.
Eligible applicants must be registered charities with a minimum income of £50,000 in the previous financial year. The Trust considers funding for various projects, including contributions to salaries, IT upgrades, building renovations, and both new and ongoing project costs.

The Masonic Charitable Foundation Charity Grants programme
Funding is available for registered charities working to support disadvantaged children and young people, as well as vulnerable older people in England and Wales.
The Masonic Charitable Foundation Charity Grants programme awards Small grants of between £1,000 and £5,000, and Large grants of between £10,000 and £60,000 to support projects that are focusing on:
Children affected by domestic abuse
Early years (0-5) with a focus on poverty and neglect
Children with special educational needs and disabilities
Older people with dementia and their carers
Small grants are for charities whose annual income is between £25,000 and £500,000 and are unrestricted. Large grants are for charities whose annual income is between £500,000 and £5 million. Large grants are restricted to specific projects with defined goals and budgets and may be spent on salaries, equipment, training, monitoring, and administration.

The Hedley Foundation
The Hedley Foundation is inviting applications from small- to medium-sized registered charities that help to improve the quality of life of people in the UK, particularly the disadvantaged and vulnerable.
The Foundation typically makes grants of up to £5,000 each year for initiatives that benefit the lives of young people, disabled people, elderly people, the terminally ill and otherwise disadvantaged people and their carers. Occasional larger sums are given to charities where high impact can be achieved.

BlueSpark Foundation
Schools, colleges, and community groups in England can apply for grants to BlueSpark Foundation to support the education and development of children and young people through educational, cultural, sporting, and other projects. BlueSpark is particularly keen to support projects that will help enhance the self-confidence, teamwork skills, and future employability of children and young people. In most cases, grants will be made on a relatively small scale.
The Foundation makes grants of up to £5,000. However, the majority of grants awarded are below £2,000.
