How are you really?

Updated: Sep 16

On a daily basis I ask people, "how are you?" and I get lots of "yeah, good, you?" or "fine yeah, thanks" or even "don't ask" I regularly follow up with "how are you really?" and it often elicits a different answer.

In a sector that exists to help people feel less sad, less anxious, less lonely, more supported, more connected, I am a bit concerned that we are hiding our won concerns and putting on a brave face.

Well, I'm really asking! And I have put together a short survey to get a measure of how people in the sector are doing at the moment. You can complete the survey totally anonymously or you can share your details and reach out for support.

Over the next two weeks, I would love for as many of you as possible to complete the survey, share it with your Trustees, staff and volunteers so that we can get a glimpse into a different type of "State of the Sector". To better understand how people are feeling and to help us plan our support better.

How are you really? We really want to know so please complete the survey, share it with colleagues and encourage them to take part too. We will report back after the survey closes on the 3rd October with our findings.

We are also looking for a group of people from the sector to answer one single question every Friday afternoon from now until 2nd April. You can sign up for that in the survey.

We will only use this information anonymously unless you ask us to contact you
