Celebrating Wirral’s trustees with an evening of food, fun and friendly competition
Each year, Trustees Week shines a spotlight on the vital role that trustees play in the success of charities and community organisations across the UK. Trustees are the volunteers who guide and govern charitable organisations, ensuring they remain true to their mission, use resources responsibly and deliver meaningful impact for their communities.
Taking place this year from 3–7 November 2025, Trustees Week is a chance to celebrate their contributions, socialise and encourage more people to consider becoming a trustee.
To mark the occasion locally, Wirral CVS is delighted to host Battle of the Boards, a special social event bringing together trustees from across Wirral’s Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) sector for an evening of connection, celebration and friendly competition.

An evening to celebrate our trustees
Hosted at the vibrant Bloom Building, Battle of the Boards offers an opportunity for trustees to unwind and enjoy free food, drinks (alcohol included) and great company in a relaxed, informal setting.
The highlight of the night will be our “Brainiest Board” quiz, where teams of trustees from local organisations will go head-to-head in a light-hearted battle of wits and teamwork. Whether your board is full of trivia experts or you’re just in it for the laughs, there’s something for everyone, and of course, prizes and glory await the winning team!
Why Trustees Week matters
Trustees are the cornerstone of the VCFSE sector. Across Wirral, hundreds of local people give their time, energy and expertise as trustees, often quietly and without recognition, to help their organisations thrive. They make decisions that shape local services, champion community causes and ensure good governance across the sector.
Trustees Week not only celebrates those already in post, but also raises awareness of the opportunities and rewards of becoming a trustee. It’s a reminder that anyone with commitment, passion and a willingness to learn can play an important part in supporting their local community.
