Flu Steering Group

Introduction

(1) Rep to attend our Winter look back session 25.26 which will consider the following areas; and the objective is to agree collective actions/areas to include in 26.27winter system action planning.

• Winter vaccination programmes Flu & Covid - review 25.26 local flu & covid programme using latest data and partner feedback from this season to inform 26/27 winter planning, including identifying areas for targeted work. 
• Winter Making Every Contact Count (MECC) - review the local Winter MECC approach, tested out during 25/26 to gather partner feedback, identify opportunities to improve and partner actions needed to achieve this.  
• Winter Preparedness Information for care setting managers - review our locally developed Winter preparedness information manager checklists with partners to raise awareness and gather feedback about how they are used, areas for future development or alignment with regionally developed resources.            

Planning for the session to be face to face on the 14th April 1-4pm – venue tbc. If you are able to identify a rep, we will add them into the invite and further information will follow.

(2) Public Health are reviewing membership of our local Seasonal Flu Steering Group and would like to seek a rep(s) from the CVS sector to support the work of the group; which is focused on system assurance and collective work to improve uptake. The meetings are monthly, for an 1 ½ on a Tuesday 1-2.15.

Reason for Request

To support and inform the work of Wirral Flu Steering Group to improve uptake to seasonal flu vaccination across priority groups in Wirral.

We'd like to look for opportunities to strengthen and join up with VCFSE to reach communities who are less likely to accept vaccination offer.
