About the event

Did you know, in the UK there are over 5 million people (that's 1 in 12) who are either directly or indirectly affected by gambling-related harms?

This event will introduce you to the signs and risk factors of gambling harm, and will be the starting point for conversation about how we can work together to tackle this silent addiction.

You will learn about the prevalence of harm; the linkages between gambling and debt, mental health issues, housing problems, isolation, criminality and suicidal presentation and what support is available locally.

We want to hear from you about what you can do to raise awareness of this hidden harm; identify where are the touch points that could help to identify problem gamblers and those at risk; explore what those touch points need to support conversations and identify how we can promote the support available.

This event is being organised by Beacon Counselling Trust, One WIrral CIC, Wirral Council Public Health, Citizens Advice Wirral and Wirral CVS
