Are you a volunteer or member of staff who would be interested in supporting your small team to fill in funding applications? Would the experience that you gain start you on the road to a new career?
Welcome to our introduction to grants course, which runs you through the basics of finding funders to apply to and helps you to be able to write a grant application from the beginning to it's submission. Learn some handy hints along the way and avoid some common pitfalls!
This is an introductory, but comprehensive, course for staff and volunteers in the Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise sector who want to understand and gain some practical experience of applying to grant funders.

Local Funders
The Steve Morgan Foundation was created in 2001 by businessman Steve Morgan CBE, founder and Chairman of Redrow plc, Chairman of the Bridgemere Group of Companies and owner of Wolverhampton Wanderers FC. Its purpose is to support charities across North Wales, Merseyside, West Cheshire and North Shropshire. Since 2001, over £32m has been committed and donated across this region.
The PH Holt Foundation, incorporating the Holt Education Trust, is an independent grant-maker supporting local communities, education, the arts, heritage and environment on Merseyside. The Foundation provides grants to small and medium sized charities which have the capacity to change lives and to develop flourishing communities across Merseyside.
The Hemby Trust is a charitable trust established in 1998 specifically to give cash grants to charitable organisations in Merseyside and Wirral. It was endowed through the generosity of one family who had lived in the area for many years.
